STATEMENT OF PURPOSE |
Formed in 1986, the purpose of the Lima Area Watercolor
Society is the promotion and support of high standards of watercolor painting
in the Lima area |
The Society sponsors programs to guide and assist
aspiring watercolor artists; to further interest in and add stature to the
use of watercolor for the mutual benefit of each member; and for the
development of public interest in the medium of watercolor. |
Watercolor
is defined as water based media, including transparent watercolor, gouache,
ink, and other media normally diluted with water. If mixed media or collage is used in the painting, the result
must be predominately watercolor |
The Lima Area Watercolor Society (LAWS) is a non-profit
organization founded by local watercolorist Annabelle Ross Vandemark to
promote watercolor painting skills and appreciation through regular
demonstrations by practicing artists, and painting and display opportunities
for watercolor painters of all skill levels. |
